Greenwood Elementary Welcomes Jenny Inman as New Principal
Des Moines Public Schools is pleased to announce Jenny Inman will lead Greenwood Elementary School beginning this summer.
Inman began her career at DMPS 15 years ago as a classroom teacher and technology specialist at Brubaker Elementary before moving to Garton Elementary as a math instructional coach and technology specialist in 2013. She also served the district as an instructional technology coordinator for several years before returning to Garton, where she was the dean of students. Inman became an associate principal at Garton in 2019.
“Jenny brings a range of leadership experiences that will serve Greenwood Elementary extremely well,” Elementary Director of Schools Barry Jones said. “Her ability to engage and support students, staff, and parents will make her a great fit for the Greenwood community.”
Inman has her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Iowa State University, a Master of Arts in education from Viterbo University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Drake University. She has served on the Associate Principal Advisory Team and Network Support Team while working for DMPS.
“I chose Greenwood Elementary because I wanted to continue to serve students in an environment where staff, families, and the community work together to support each students’ hopes, dreams, and academic achievement,” Inman said. “I am looking forward to building meaningful relationships with students, staff, and families. Greenwood has a very supportive and collaborative atmosphere and I look forward to being a part of it.”
Inman will begin working on a transition to her new position this summer. She takes over for Andrea Safina, who is moving on to serve as principal at Garton Elementary School.
