DMPS Names Oak Park Principal: Christopher Fee
Des Moines Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Fee as the new principal of Oak Park Elementary School. Fee is currently Dean of Students at Capitol View Elementary School. He replaces Holly Crandell, who is the new Director of Curriculum for Des Moines Public Schools.
“Chris is an up-and-coming young leader in education who will bring a great deal of energy and enthusiasm to this position,” said Dr. Nancy Sebring, Superintendent of Des Moines Public Schools. “I know he is looking forward to working with the students, teachers and families of the Oak Park community.”
“It’s an honor to have this opportunity to work with a great team of teachers and staff, and a terrific group of students, as we all work together to improve education,” added Fee. “Oak Park is one of our longest-serving schools in Des Moines, and I’m excited to be a part of a community with such a long tradition.”
Fee began his career in education as a third and fourth grade teacher with Southeast Polk Schools. He joined Des Moines Public Schools last year as a dean at Capitol View. He is a member of the School Administrators of Iowa and serves as a member of the Simpson College Educational Advisory Board.
Fee received his BA in elementary education from Iowa State University and a Masters in Education from Viterbo University.
