Each Spring, the East High School Alumni Foundation hosts a big event to award tens of thousands of dollars in college scholarship to graduating seniors. East Side Pride didn’t let a pandemic get in the way of honoring the Class of 2020. Early on the morning of Friday, May 1 a drive-thru ceremony was held in front of the school as students and parents arrived to be presented with their scholarship and a Scarlet cookie. This year the East Alumni Foundation presented $169,000 in scholarships to 88 soon-to-be graduates, with awards ranging from $500 to $11,000.
