Everyone at Des Moines Public Schools is excited about the start of a new school year and the chance to work with our students. At the same time, we share the concerns many of you have about the on-going impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing number of cases.
DMPS is taking several steps to mitigate the spread of the virus in our school buildings. In addition, we are making online education an option for more students with the launch of a virtual learning program for grade K-5 students. You can read more about both efforts here.
At the same time, from wearing face masks to getting vaccinated, it takes everyone’s cooperation and involvement to put this pandemic behind.
On Tuesday, August 17 Superintendent Ahart and other district leaders will hold a session to discuss plans for the new school year as they relate to COVID-19 and answer any questions you might have. Please submit questions in advance using the form below.
The session will begin at 5:30 and stream on the DMPS-TV YouTube channel.
Thank you for submitting your questions. The form is now closed.
If you did not have a chance to view the session, it can be viewed on our YouTube channel.
