Another benefit to being an official community partner is the opportunity to use space for free Monday through Friday. To request the reservation of space in a DMPS building, please click here.
Official DMPS Community Partners do not pay for space Monday through Friday.
If an official Community Partner is reserving space on the weekends (Saturday and Sunday), the partner is required to pay the Group A Non-Profit Custodian Fee found here: Fee schedule
If they are charging a fee for the event or paying to participate in the group, you will be charged fees.
As a condition of using a school building, all renters are required to sign a Group Representative Responsibility & Hold Harmless Agreement. In certain instances, Liability Insurance may also be required. This form must be attached when creating a request.
- We recommend planning far enough in advance of your event or after school needs.
- If you have questions, please contact Andrea Baker at andrea.baker@dmschools.org or directly at 515-242-8530. The Facilities Department number is 515-242-7706.
Community Schools exist to build meaningful partnerships between families, schools, and the community leading to improved student learning, thriving families and vibrant Des Moines neighborhoods. Community School Coordinators work with their school teams to create a comprehensive continuum of internal and external supports to ensure students’ personal and academic success. Community School Coordinators are the main point of contact in each school for all Community Partnerships. Please find the list of current Community School Coordinators below.
