Des Moines Public Schools is participating in the USDA Summer Food Service Program, which will allow for a safe and streamlined service of nutritious meals during the 2024 summer break at 26 locations. Two additional sites are funded through an Iowa Department of Education Summer Meal Expansion Grant.

Meals will be provided for all children ages 18 and younger at no cost. DMPS has been providing free summer meals for more than 40 years.

The USDA requires that meals must be eaten at the distribution site. The meals will be provided with a first-come, first-served basis.

Monday through Friday unless otherwise noted. All sites are open from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
(There will be no meals served on June 19 or July 4-5.)

Funding for the program is through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Des Moines Public Schools. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, age or ability.
