Every year we say goodbye to hundreds of graduates but also dozens of employees as they move from DMPS into the next stage of their lives – retirement. Sixty-nine people, many who dedicated their careers to service in Des Moines, will walk out the doors for the last time.

With employees across 60+ buildings, it’s hard to know everyone. But DMPS retirees have a special quality in common, a shared purpose of working for the greater good. For schools. For kids. They have shared their talents and skills to further the education and life prospects of tens of thousands of students.

“DMPS appreciates the support given to our students over the years,” said Susie Tallman, Chief of Talent and Personnel. “The dedication and commitment to one of the most challenging careers is admirable. The strong impact left by a DMPS employee is everlasting.  We hope there are many great memories as you part from DMPS. Thank you!”
