Swimmers from East, Lincoln and Roosevelt high schools advanced in district qualifying over the weekend to compete in eight different events at the 2018 State Swim Meet.

Congratulations to the following state qualifiers:

  • 200 Yard Individual Medley – Alex Shay, Roosevelt (senior)
  • 50 Yard Freestyle – Brayden Clark, Lincoln (junior)
  • 100 Yard Butterfly – Alex Liu, East (junior); Javier Santiago, Lincoln (junior); Duncan Shay, Roosevelt (senior)
  • 100 Backstroke – Javier Santiago, Lincoln (junior)
  • 100 Breaststroke – Hamilton Parrish, Roosevelt (senior)
  • 200 Medley Relay – Roosevelt: Jack Olson (freshman), Hamilton Parrish (senior), Duncan Shay (senior), and Ian Sink (junior)
  • 200 Freestyle Relay – Lincoln: Brayden Clark (junior), Will Bennett (freshman), Konnor Klocke (sophomore), and Logan Neifert (sophomore)
  • 200 Freestyle Relay – Roosevelt: Aidan Brown (sophomore), Ian Sink (junior), Duncan Shay (senior), and Alex Shay (senior)
  • 400 Freestyle Relay – Lincoln: Konnor Klocke (sophomore), Brayden Clark (junior), Will Bennett (freshman), and Javier Santiago (junior)

The State Swim Meet is this Saturday, February 10 beginning at 12:30 PM at the University of Iowa natatorium in Iowa City.
