Congratulations to Central Campus film students Abdul Mokhtar (Hoover), Rachel Chow (Johnston), Brock Stillmunks (Roosevelt), Helena Gruensteidl (Roosevelt), and Finn Pilcher (Roosevelt). All five student filmmakers had their work presented at the Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival this past weekend.

A panel of judges awarded only 63 submissions with Official Selection status. These films went on to compete for Gold and Silver Eddy Awards and the Audience Choice Award.

“It was another fine crop of films this year. We are proud to showcase some great Iowa filmmakers,” said festival founder and director Scott Chrisman.

The Official Selections represented a wide variety of features, shorts, documentaries, music videos, and experimental films at Student, Pro-Am and Professional levels.

Central Campus instructor Tim Coleman notes, “We are grateful for our students to have a professional environment to showcase their work. You can expect more great things from these students in the future.”
