Red Bull Battalion Brings Home Awards
There aren’t many school activities that begin at 5:30 a.m. and even fewer that require a student to be in uniform, ready to think and move on command.
But that’s the life of a Central Campus JROTC Red Bull Battalion cadet. Conditioning themselves to do more is part of their DNA.
The hard work paid off on January 23, when the team loaded a bus at 2:00 a.m. to travel to Omaha, Nebraska where a long day of competition awaited them at the annual Titan Invitational Drill Meet.
The Red Bull Battalion won seven trophies:
- 1st place Armed Exhibition
- 1st place Unarmed Color Guard
- 2nd place Unarmed Exhibition
- 3rd place New Platoon Regulation
- 2nd place Unarmed Overall
- 2nd place Armed Overall
- 2nd place Combined Overall
Sgt. Robert Webb, JROTC instructor at Central Campus said the students did an excellent job and he’s proud of their work. He also thanked the community surrounding the cadets everyday.
“The Red Bull Battalion could not have won without the support of their families and friends at competitions, and every other day of the year.”
The team’s schedule is just getting started, with drill competitions planned across the Midwest over the next several weeks.
