DMPS Teacher Wins Golden Apple Award
Congratulations to Goodrell Middle School teacher Eric Galvin, winner of the WHO-TV/Allied Insurance Golden Apple Award. Principal Craig Leager says Galvin, a 26-year veteran, is a passionate educator who goes above and beyond to help students succeed academically, emotionally and socially.
“Eric is the epitome of student-focused,” said Leager. “He builds strong positive relationships with students that allow him to reach students in authentic and meaningful ways. He is a solid educator making a significant impact on the lives of students and families.”
One Golden Apple Award winner is chosen each month of the school year based on letters from students. The award is delivered by WHO-TV reporter Jodi Whitworth.

WHO-TVs website says the company receives thousands of nominations every year.
