Swimmers from Hoover, Lincoln, North, Roosevelt Head to State
Congratulations and good luck to the DMPS student-athletes who qualified for the Girls State Swimming and Diving Championships this Friday and Saturday in Marshalltown! The student-athletes represent four DMPS high schools.
Roosevelt qualified its 200 yard medley relay consisting of seniors Emma Gaer, Claire Michelson, Theresa Manivanh and sophomore Natalie Galluzzo.
Both Gaer and Galluzzo qualified in the 200 individual medley. Gaer will also compete in the 100 Butterfly and Galluzzo in the 100 Breaststroke.
Lincoln freshman Jolynn Harris will compete in diving.
The Rails also qualified its 200 yard medley relay unit of junior Jordyn Dubois, junior Ane Skartvedt, senior Valeria Santiago and sophomore Sara Bennett.
North senior Moriah Ross qualified to seek a State title in both the 100 Butterfly and Breaststroke.
Hoover senior Kerigan Torres is in the field for the 100 Freestyle while Huskie freshman Breazi Preston made it in the 100 Breaststroke.
The State meet is held November 6-7 at the Marshalltown Community Y. Diving events are held on Friday with swimming getting underway at noon on Saturday.
