Polar Bears Score ‘Bulls-eye’

After qualifying by winning the regional championship, the squad representing North High School finished 13^th in last week’s national JROTC Air Rifle Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio.

The competition began back in December with 1,163 teams. In the individual standings, North’s Dakota Lumpkes-Heim finished 12^th out of some 8,000 entrants.

If you think of those results in terms of where they’d place on a target, you’re looking at a couple of bulls-eyes. Congratulations and a salute to JROTC Marine Instructor, Gunnery Sergeant Mike Gettler and the rest of the team: Jessica Ebersole, Lucas McNichols, Jimmy Ellefson and Dakota Mattos!
